Jan Skramlík (1860-1936)
pastel, karton, 45 x 33,5 cm, sign. PN J. Skramlík, rám, Jan rytíř Skramlík, uváděn též jako rytíř z Cronreuthu (1860 – 1936), malíř a operní pěvec. V letech 1876-1878 studoval na pražské malířské Akademii. Poté odchází na 8 let do Mnichova, kde studuje na Akademii u profesora Wilhelma Lindenschmidta. Kolem roku 1886 cestuje do Paříže, kde se seznámil s Václavem Brožíkem. Když se Brožík vrátil jako profesor pražské malířské Akademie do vlasti, stal se Skramlík jeho žákem, přičemž pak dlouhá léta maloval v jeho atelieru. Studium si prohloubil dvouapůlročním pobytem v Itálii, cestami po jižní Evropě, Německu a Anglii. Kromě malování se věnoval i opernímu zpěvu, v roce 1889 byl jako barytonista angažován do souboru Národního Divadla v Praze.
